Ashok Belani joined Schlumberger in 1980 as a field engineer and transferred into product development where he held positions in engineering, marketing, and technology management. He served as Vice President of Marketing & Product Development for Wireline and then in the same role for the larger Oilfield Services organization. He later became Chief Information Officer for Schlumberger. He managed the semiconductor equipment business in California from 2000 to 2004, eventually selling these operations to Credence Systems.
Belani holds a bachelors in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology as well as a masters in petroleum engineering from Stanford. He serves on the Advisory Board for the School of Earth Sciences at Stanford as well as the Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology.
