Enbridge announced a definitive agreement in July 2018 to sell their Canadian gas gathering and processing business in the Motney, Peace River Arch, Horn River, and Liard basins to Brookfield Infrastructure Partners for CAD 4.31 billion in cash. The business includes 19 gas processing plants and liquids handling facilities with a total capacity of 3.3 billion cubic feet per day and 3,550 kilometers of gathering lines. The transaction includes separate sale agreements for assets governed by provincial regulations and those governed by the National Energy Board. The provencially regulated portion of the deal closed in October, and the federally regulated asset sale closed in December 2019. RBC Capital Markets advised Enbridge on the transaction.
