Genstar-Backed Enverus Acquires RS Energy Group and Q Engineering

Genstar Capital-backed Enverus has acquired RS Energy Group (RSEG) from Warburg Pincus who acquired the company in 2015. RSEG co-CEOs Jim Jarrell and Manuj Nikhanj will join Enverus as co-Presidents of the Oil & Gas Analytics division. Goldman Sachs served as the financial advisor for Enverus, and Credit Suisse and Jefferies served as financial advisors to RSEG and Warburg Pincus. Enverus also acquired Houston-based Q Engineering.

The initials RS come from the last names of founders Allan Ross and Michael Smith. Ross Smith Energy Group was founded in 1998 and later renamed RS Energy Group. Warburg Pincus acquired RS Energy from ITG in 2015. NavPort was acquired in 2016 and London-based Petroleum Policy Intelligence (PPI) in 2018. Q Engineering was founded in 2016 by James Ruiz and Mark Bahorich.
