EIG Global Energy Partners

Background

EIG Global Energy Partners invests in private equity and credit. Operations are divided into three business units: Energy Funds, Harbour Energy, and Credit/Direct Lending. EIG is an abbreviation for Energy Infrastructure Group, a former division of TCW.

TCW's Energy Group was established in 1982 and later renamed TCW Energy Infrastructure Group (EIG). EIG headquarters were moved to Washington DC in 2010, and a spin off from TCW was completed in 2011. CIC acquired a minority interest in EIG in 2012, and AMG acquired a revenue sharing interest in EIG in 2014. The company raised $1.1 billion for Global Project Fund V in May 2020 with an additional $1.5 billion for parallel investments.
