Crescent Point Energy Corp. operates oil and gas fields in the United States and Canada. Common shares are listed on the TSX (CPG) and NYSE (CPG) exchanges.
Westport Research was incorporated in 1994 and began trading on the Toronto stock exchange in 2002. The company merged with Tappit Resources and converted to a trust in 2003. Mission Oil & Gas was acquired in 2007, and the company changed its name to Wild River Resources. Wild River reverted from a trust to a corporation in 2009 and changed its name to Crescent Point Energy. Shelter Bay Energy was acquired in 2010, and Ute Energy was acquired in 2012. The company listed on the NYSE exchange in 2014 and acquired Legacy Oil & Gas in 2015. In April 2021, Crescent Point acquired Shell's Kaybob Duvernay assets in Alberta for $900 million.
